| Your task | Relevant tool | What to prepare or check |
|---|---|---|
| Tailor a spreadsheet dashboard | Custom Google Sheets Dashboard | Source records, KPI definitions and the views you want in a Google Sheets workflow |
| Commission a business app or form workflow | Custom Web App Development | User tasks, input forms, expected outputs and the steps the app needs to support |
Write the workflow before choosing the interface
Describe who enters information, what they enter and what someone needs to see afterward. A weekly operations review may need defined figures and their source records. A form-based workflow may need a clear sequence of submissions and review steps. Explain that sequence before requesting a design.
List the essential parts separately from ideas that would be useful later. This gives the scope discussion a concrete starting point without assuming every idea is included.
Prepare a useful brief with sample records
Provide a small fictional or sanitized example of the inputs and expected result. Define each KPI in words, including its time period and what it counts. Identify files or services the workflow would need, but treat connections, automation and access requirements as questions to confirm with the seller.
A screenshot can show a preferred layout; a worked example explains whether the numbers and workflow are right. Both help clarify the request before development starts.
Confirm the commissioned deliverable
Use the Etsy conversation to confirm functions, format, delivery and any revision arrangements before ordering. The Google Sheets service and web app service have different starting points. Neither collection card is a fixed promise of integrations, hosting terms or a delivery date.
If a ready-made workflow fits, compare the business operations templates first. A custom order is most useful when you can explain the difference between your process and an existing template.
