Small Business Operations Templates: Inventory, CRM, Staff & Projects

Business operations need several kinds of records: what is in stock, which client needs a reply, who is scheduled and what a project still needs. Compare SheetChief's inventory, CRM, staffing and project templates, plus focused apps for contractors, cleaning businesses, orders and shipping. Start with one workflow and choose the format that fits it.

Separate the record from the action it supports

An inventory count supports a purchasing decision. A CRM record supports a client follow-up. A project plan supports the next task. Before comparing dashboards, identify the decision you want the record to help you make and the information someone can reliably update.

Use consistent product, client or job references. A stable reference makes it easier to connect a stock entry to an order or a cost entry to a project without relying on slightly different spellings of a name.

Keep planning and completed work distinct

A staff schedule describes planned work; a timesheet records work that has been reported. A contractor estimate and a completed invoice also answer different questions. The collection includes separate tools for those tasks. Compare titles and previews to avoid choosing a planning tool when you need a completed-work record.

For projects, prepare tasks, owners and dates before choosing between a Kanban view and a Gantt-style plan. The Excel project tracker lists both approaches, while other products focus on their own operational records.

Choose a focused tool or prepare a custom brief

Use a focused template when its workflow matches your task. If you need a different combination of records, calculations and views, compare the custom dashboard and web app services. Write down the input, expected output and one example workflow before discussing scope.

Questions, answered

Which tool is suitable for basic stock records?

The Small Business Inventory Tracker provides a Google Sheets and Excel inventory sheet with a reorder list. The Excel Inventory & Product Cost Spreadsheet has a maker-focused bill of materials and product-costing purpose. Compare the previews to your task.

Is a staff rota the same as a timesheet?

A rota is a plan for shifts; a timesheet records reported work time. This collection has separate schedule and timesheet products, so choose according to the record you need.

Do all business templates work in Google Sheets?

No. The collection mixes Google Sheets and Excel products, Excel-specific templates and web apps. Check each product's format and current Etsy requirements.
